HTML5 is going to bring lots of big changes on the web. It is going to introduce several new features for embedding audio, video and other graphical content in web pages.
Google has already started their effort towards bringing this change to their applications. You can visit HTML5 version of Youtube which is under testing. This version is quite similar to existing Youtube but it uses HTML5 and hence there is no need of flash players.
You will require modern browsers that support both the video tag in HTML5 and the h.264 video codec. These include:
- Google Chrome
- Apple Safari (version 4+)
- Microsoft Internet Explorer with Google Chrome Frame installed (Get Google Chrome Frame)
Visit youtube.com/html5 to see the HTML5 Videos without Flash or Silverlight.
